Machinist

Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain various machines, including lathes, milling machines, and grinders, to fabricate precision parts.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to create parts that meet exact dimensions and tolerances.
• Set up machines, adjust settings, and monitor performance to ensure the accurate production of components.
• Perform quality control checks on machined parts to ensure they meet design specifications and tolerances.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose machine malfunctions, performing repairs and maintenance as needed to minimize downtime.
• Work with engineers and production teams to determine the best machining processes for specific projects.
• Perform routine maintenance on machines, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols while working with machinery and tools.
• Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and production outcomes for reporting and quality control purposes.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, following industry best practices for safety and efficiency.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a machinist or in a similar technical role.
• Minimum of an OND in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining various machining equipment such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Solid understanding of machining processes, tools, and materials used in fabrication.
• Experience in troubleshooting and repairing machines, with strong mechanical skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, precision parts.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in a machine shop environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Good organizational skills and the ability to keep accurate records of production and maintenance activities.
• Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
