Maintenance & Asset Integrity Manager
Role Purpose
The Maintenance and Integrity Coordinator will develop and implement maintenance strategies, oversee inspection and integrity programs, and coordinate with operations teams to minimize downtime and extend the lifecycle of assets. The M&I Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and optimal performance of production facilities and equipment in the company.
Accountabilities
- Oversee the execution of planned and preventive maintenance activities, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies and programs to ensure the reliability and integrity of production facilities, equipment, and infrastructure.
- Coordinate inspection and integrity programs, including corrosion monitoring, pipeline integrity, and equipment inspection, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with engineering and operations teams to develop and implement asset integrity management systems and best practices.
- Monitor the condition of critical assets, identify trends, predict failures, and recommend corrective actions to prevent downtime.
- Ensure the timely and accurate documentation of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspection reports, and compliance records.
- Ensure budgetary control by optimizing resource allocation and controlling costs while maintaining high standards of reliability and safety.
- Provide technical support and guidance to maintenance teams, ensuring the effective resolution of equipment issues and the implementation of corrective actions
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, implementing new technologies and methodologies to enhance maintenance practices and asset integrity.
- Evaluate and select maintenance tools and equipment for maintenance operations.
- Coordinate with external vendors and service providers to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of maintenance services and support.
- Provide on-site technical support during production operations.
- Conduct root cause analysis of equipment downtime and implement corrective actions.
- Liaise with vendors and suppliers to procure equipment and services, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Prepare maintenance reports and present findings to stakeholders and recommend strategies for areas of improvement.
- Liaise with government agencies, including NUPRC, NNPC, NAPIMS, NCDMB etc. to ensure all activities adhere to regulatory requirements, company policies and industry standards.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, promoting a culture of safety and operational excellence across all maintenance and integrity activities.
- Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Provide technical input during field development planning and well reviews.
Knowledge & Skills Required
- Knowledge of maintenance and integrity management principles, including reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and risk-based inspection (RBI).
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and enterprise asset management (EAM) software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and different stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex situations and develop effective maintenance strategies.
- Experience in managing maintenance and integrity budgets, with a focus on cost control and resource optimization.
- In-depth knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements related to asset integrity and maintenance in the upstream oil & gas sector.
- Experience in managing maintenance operations in both onshore and offshore environments.
- Strong knowledge of HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) standards and best practices.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadline
- Ability to adapt to changing operational conditions and work in a dynamic environment.
- Willingness to travel to field locations and work in challenging conditions as required.
Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Possess minimum 10 (ten) years active experience in in the upstream oil and gas industry.
- Experience in the Niger Delta/Rivers region is essential.
