Our client is a key player in the financial service sector. They are currently looking to hire a managing director for their asset management subsidiary.
JOB OBJECTIVE:
To provide strategic direction and effective oversight needed for optimal achievement of the company’s corporate objectives and strategies as approved by the Board of Directors.
Accountabilities:
- Communicate the business objectives of the Board to the Management Team of the company and provide the required strategies to guarantee optimal results
- Unpack and cascade corporate objectives into strategic business objectives and assign measurable key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Sign up and oversee the implementation of corporate strategies aimed at achieving business objectives as ratified by the company's Board
- Offer the Board necessary advice on markets and profitable investments opportunities in the asset management industry based on deep insights gained from market and industry operations
- Ensure that policies and procedures meet the expectations of all key stakeholders, financiers, etc
- Work with the Management Team in the formulation of all budgets for income and expenditure, including required strategic plan budgets, annual budgets, cash flow forecasts, and obtain approval on these budgets with the Board through the company's Executive Management Team
- Work with the Management Team to create an enabling culture and environment that enhances employees’ productivity while maximising their potentials and nurturing their aspirations
- Build networks within and outside the industry and translate these into business opportunities to increase shareholders’ value
- Oversee the overall performance of the company and ensure all departments and units perform at optimal levels
- Ensure the corporate brand is strengthened and consistently promoted in ways that project a viable business venture to relevant stakeholders
- Provide detailed reports on business operations and achievements of set strategic objectives as and when due to the Board of the company

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:
- First degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field is usually the starting point.
- MBA (Master of Business Administration) is required
- CFA certification is desirable
Experience:
Minimum of 15 - 20 years' work experience in asset management or financial services industry, 3 - 5 of which should be in a senior or executive management position.
