Marine/Chief Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of marine engines, propulsion systems, and auxiliary equipment.
• Ensure the vessel’s compliance with classification society, flag state, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on critical vessel systems, including power generation, fuel systems, and hydraulics.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues onboard vessels.
• Supervise and manage the engineering crew, providing guidance and technical support.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance schedules, equipment inspections, and repairs.
• Work closely with the vessel’s captain, superintendents, and shore-based management to ensure smooth operations.
• Participate in shipyard repair activities as needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Marine Engineering or a related field.
• Valid Certificate of Competency (COC) Class 1 or Class 2 (Marine Engineer).
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in marine vessel service (ships/jack-up rigs).
• Strong knowledge of marine diesel engines, electrical systems, propulsion systems, and hydraulic equipment.
• Familiarity with IMO, SOLAS, ISM Code, and class regulations.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead and manage engineering teams effectively.
• Strong communication and report-writing skills.
• Willingness to work offshore and travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Jack-up Barges.
• Previous experience as Chief Engineer on offshore vessels is an advantage.
