Materials Scientist

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Material Scientist to join our dynamic team. As a Material Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in the research, development, and implementation of materials for various applications. Your expertise will contribute to the enhancement of existing products and the creation of innovative solutions, driving our company's success in a rapidly evolving technological landscape. In this role, you will see to the experimentation and development of production materials especially resins and filaments using locally sourced materials; while ensuring quality standards are met.

What you will do

· Conduct research and focus on the development of materials used in our additive manufacturing processes.

· Obtain information that can be used to develop new products or enhance existing ones using locally sourced materials.

· Plan laboratory experiments to confirm the feasibility of processes and techniques used in the production of resins and filaments.

· Collaborate with engineering and production teams to select materials and processes that meet performance, cost, and schedule requirements.

· Prepare reports, manuscripts, proposals, and technical manuals for use by end-users in the print lab.

· Perform experiments and computer modeling to study the nature, structure, and physical and chemical properties of materials having special characteristics.

· Determine ways to strengthen or combine materials or develop new materials with new or specific properties for use in a variety of products and applications

· Devise testing methods to evaluate the effects of various conditions on particular materials

· Test and recommend materials for reliable performance in various environments and for various uses.

What we require

· Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry or related field

· Minimum of (3) years of relevant experience.

· Experience supporting operations in a research lab, managing equipment, and ensuring safety practices are followed.

· Ability to interpret scientific results and draw conclusions from scientific data.

· Proven experience in material characterization techniques and analysis.

· Experience working in a team and managing subordinates.

· Positive work attitude
