Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose mechanical and hydraulic issues in Caterpillar machinery.
- Repair engines, hydraulic systems, and powertrains of Caterpillar equipment.
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance checks.
- Replace or repair worn-out components such as tracks and undercarriages.
- Test equipment performance post-repair to ensure operability.
- Use specialized tools and diagnostic equipment for fault identification.
- Maintain records of repairs and maintenance schedules.
- Assist with the assembly and disassembly of machinery components.
- Conduct on-site repairs during breakdowns.
- Collaborate with the Workshop Manager to ensure resource availability.
- Train junior staff on Caterpillar-specific repair techniques.
- Work in compliance with safety and environmental standards.
- Liaise with manufacturers for parts and technical guidance.
- Develop and implement innovative solutions for recurring issues.
- Monitor and maintain spare part inventory for Caterpillar equipment.
Requirements:
Technical diploma or equivalent in Heavy Equipment Mechanics.
10-15 years of experience working with Caterpillar machinery.
Proficiency in hydraulic and electrical system diagnostics.
Certifications in Caterpillar-specific repair training are an advantage.
