Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose mechanical issues in heavy-duty trucks using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Perform engine, transmission, brake, and suspension repairs.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
- Repair and replace damaged or worn-out truck components.
- Test vehicles to ensure they meet operational and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and parts usage.
- Stay updated on the latest technologies and techniques in truck maintenance.
- Collaborate with workshop staff to optimize repair schedules.
- Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure workplace safety.
- Provide training to junior mechanics and apprentices.
- Liaise with suppliers for spare parts and warranty claims.
- Conduct field repairs when trucks break down off-site.
- Work with the Workshop Manager to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems in modern trucks.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the workshop area.
Requirements:
- Technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent certification.
- 10-15 years of experience in heavy-duty truck maintenance.
- Proficiency in using advanced diagnostic tools and software.
- Strong problem-solving and time-management skills.
