Job Summary

We are looking to hire a Media Planner who will be responsible for strategizing, planning, and executing media-related activities for assigned clients across multiple channels. This media rockstar is required to have a solid understanding of our client’s business and to apply their media expertise to deliver against the clients’ business objectives.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:
Strategy:
  • On behalf of the agency, the media planner ensures that the execution of media plans runs smoothly, aligns with client goals and expectations, and ultimately provides ROI to clients.
  • As a senior media buyer, you will be responsible for placing campaigns across various mass & digital platforms, developing media buying strategies, and forecasting media spend to deliver against campaign goals.
  • Identify, problem-solve and find strategic ways to transform complex data into comprehensible information to meet business objectives
  • Formulate and apply modeling and optimizing methods to interpret data, simplifying it for client needs.
  • Identifying target audiences and analyzing their characteristics, behavior, and media habits.
  • Design strategic roadmaps, including growth pillars, channel priorities, and tactic testing.

Media Buying & Optimization:
  • Bid/buy, place campaigns within various digital platforms, and manage the ongoing real-time optimization of live media to ensure client goals are met and/or exceeded
  • Collaborate and develop media plans across agency teams for upcoming campaigns by determining the best platforms, target audience, and creative strategies to implement
  • Responsible for consistently working to improve campaign performance, insights collection, and takeaways, and generally strive to “overdeliver” for assigned clients.

Media Reporting:
  • Evaluate and monitor campaigns for performance, ensuring campaigns are pacing accordingly, managing spend, troubleshooting campaigns, creating insights about performance, making updates accordingly and flagging potential issues to management
  • Create and occasionally present client-facing campaign reporting: pacing reports, campaign build, ad-hoc analysis, and high-touch optimizations to ensure relevant metrics and insights are shown and make recommendations by condensing or strengthening key insights from campaign reports to optimize performance across Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Google, etc.
  • Allocate media spend to track against campaign goals; ensure clients are not under- or overspending
  • Frequent optimization recommendations, campaign monitoring in-platform and adjustments to maximize KPI output
  • Lead agency media pitches and presentations along with management team
  • Undertaking research and analyzing data using specialist industry resources.
  • Monitoring and optimizing the effectiveness of campaigns.

Client Servicing, Administration and Budget Management:
  • Assist in the training and development of new and existing Media Analysts on the team
  • Attend client meetings and established cadences, providing valuable media insights and recommendations throughout.
  • Provide Budget Control Reports (BCR) to clients, maintain records, and prepare periodic reports as may be required on assigned accounts.
  • Understand the client's business objectives and advertising strategy.
  • Stay up-to-date on all trends, market, and consumer information necessary to the preparation of an effective and efficient digital media plan.
  • Maintain good communication with media owners, newspapers, magazines, and website owners.
  • Ensure that all media invoices, discrepancies, and billings are input, cleared, and issued in a timely fashion.



Requiremennts:
  • Bachelors degree, preferably in a relevant field (business, communications, marketing, etc.).
  • Experience within an integrated advertising agency leading media planning
  • Knowledge of media research tools (e.g. Clear Decisions, Vividata, Neilson) and media tools (e.g. Prisma) will give leverage to this application
  • Client service-oriented.
  • Curiosity, with a passion for continuous development.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Highly developed organizational skills with a strong attention to detail accuracy.
  • Excellent ability to manage and prioritize time effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently.
  • Proactive approach to problem solving, assisting the team, self-development, etc.
  • Ability to develop and foster relationships with media partners.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • 3+ years online and mass media planning
  • Expert knowledge of the digital landscape, including online campaigns, new technologies used in both front and backends, social media, and online marketingExpert knowledge of media specific terminology and digital metrics, corresponding data, and their implication on planning efforts.
  • Expert knowledge of conventional and unconventional digital media buying and acquisition models (CPA, CPC, CPM, CPE)
  • Expert knowledge of major ad-serving platforms, CPC bidding platforms (e.g., Marin, Acquision, etc.), Facebook PowerEditor, and Google AdWords (GAP certification is an asset).
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, custom charts, filters, dashboards, macros, etc.).
  • Advanced knowledge of media and research tools (comScore, MRI, eMarketer, etc.).
  • Ability to create compelling presentations and documents communicating campaign plans, reports, post mortems, etc.
  • Advanced ability to comprehend and communicate financial documentation and systems, including the ability to set and understand budgets and forecasts.
  • Advanced knowledge of Social Insight tools (i.e., Facebook audience insights).
  • Advanced knowledge of SEM platforms & optimization (i.e., Google AdWords, Bing, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Analytics tools (i.e. Google Analytics, Omniture, etc.)
  • Advanced knowledge of bid management or cross-marketing platforms.
  • Knowledge of analytical methodologies used for optimization and evaluation of multi-channel marketing campaigns (customer segmentation, predictive response models, marketing analysis, trend analysis, forecasting, etc.)
  • Advanced computer and digital literacy skills (Microsoft Windows/Apple OSX, Microsoft Office, Internet/Web, Social Media).
