We seek a visionary curriculum designer with expertise in mentorship program development to shape a structured curriculum of global standard that provides the necessary direction for mentors and fosters growth and excellence among our mentees.
Job Overview
We are looking for a skilled Mentorship Curriculum Developer with experience in instructional design, curriculum development, and entrepreneurship education. The ideal candidate will create a comprehensive, engaging, and scalable mentorship curriculum tailored for entrepreneurs across diverse sectors: Creative Economy, Technology, Food & Agriculture, and Renewable Energy. This curriculum will be central to our mission to equip our beneficiaries with the skills, resources, and network they need to thrive.
Responsibilities
- Curriculum Development
- Design a structured, competency-based mentorship curriculum tailored to entrepreneurs’ needs in the specified sectors.
- Develop engaging and interactive training modules, including lesson plans, assessments, and multimedia resources.
- Ensure the curriculum aligns with organisational goals, meeting specific learning objectives for each phase (e.g., onboarding, skill-building, networking, sustainability).
- Integrate case studies, role models, and real-world applications to inspire and motivate beneficiaries.
- Mentorship Model Design
- Define a mentorship structure and learning flow that supports group mentorship sessions with the possibility of one-one sessions.
- Outline guidelines for mentor-mentee interactions, goal-setting processes, and progress-tracking mechanisms.
- Develop templates, tools, and resources to support mentors in delivering consistent, high-quality guidance.
- Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work with program leaders, subject matter experts, and mentors to ensure curriculum relevance, accuracy, and practicality.
- Engage with beneficiaries to gather insights into their needs, ensuring the curriculum addresses common challenges and growth opportunities.
- Support training and orientation for mentors on effective curriculum delivery and mentorship practices.
- Evaluation and Improvement
- Design evaluation frameworks to assess the curriculum’s effectiveness, track participant progress, and gather feedback.
- Regularly review and update the curriculum to incorporate new trends, participant feedback, and organisational insights.
Qualifications
- Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Business, Entrepreneurship, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- At least 5+ years of experience in curriculum design, instructional design, or mentorship program development, preferably within the entrepreneurship or non-profit sectors.
- Proven experience designing mentorship programs or entrepreneur training for diverse audiences.
- Skills
- Content Expertise: In-depth knowledge of entrepreneurship, mentorship, and skills development.
- Instructional Design Skills: Proficiency in creating structured, engaging, and scalable curricula for diverse learners.
- Project Management: Strong organizational and project management skills to manage timelines and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
- Communication: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effectively working with mentors, program staff, and entrepreneurs.
- Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with e-learning platforms, interactive tools, and multimedia content development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with African or emerging markets entrepreneurship ecosystems.
- Familiarity with Creative Economy, Technology, Food & Agriculture, and/or Renewable Energy sectors.
- Previous experience working with social impact programs.
