Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Provide corporate/ commercial legal advice for the company’s operations.
- Draft and review Term Sheets, MoU’s, Lease Agreements, Service Contracts, Vendor Contracts, Project Agreements e.t.c.
- Ongoing monitoring and advising on legal issues arising from transactions and operations of the business.
- Draft leases and correspondence as necessary and perform administrative work related to legal department.
- Update project tracking database with current project status to manage timelines.
- Interact with members of the legal department and other internal customers to support timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Provision of Legal advice to support business stakeholders and ensure legal compliance of business decisions, processes and documentation.
- Training of staff on any legal developments impacting the business.
- Legal research and provision of guidance on recent legislation and developments.
Functional Knowledge
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of local corporate/ commercial law principles.
- Sufficient experience in contract drafting.
- Ability to conduct due diligence effectively without supervision.
- Ability to work with functional groups and different level of employees throughout the ATC Nigeria organization and affiliates across Africa to effectively and professionally achieve business results.
- Strong follow-up skills; ability to organize applicable department timelines and follow up with internal and external customer needs as needed.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
- Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast paced environment
- Strong track record of building and maintaining solid relationships with both internal and external customers and vendors.
- Self-motivated, able to work both independently to complete tasks and respond to department requests as well as collaborating with others to utilize resources and knowledge in identifying high quality solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Law
- 2 – 5 years post call experience
- Relevant experience in a law firm will be an advantage
- In-depth knowledge of commercial law and requirements for telecommunications operations in Nigeria
