Optic Fiber Planning Manager

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and assess geographical data for optimal network route design
• Conduct detailed fiber mapping to meet design specifications for the fiber network
• Manage site survey vendors for accurate planning information etc.
• Design optic fiber network, developing KMZ files and other planning reports
• Design network schematics, ensuring scalability of network infrastructure
• Oversee all aspects of fiber optic installation projects, ensuring implementation is done according to the plan
• Manage project teams, including subcontractors and vendors, and ensure all personnel are trained, equipped, and motivated to complete their assigned tasks to the highest standards
• Collaborate with the Client and other engineering teams to ensure compatibility of designed networks with existing network/user requirements
• Responsible for ensuring that all project specification documents and change orders are properly maintained and communicated to all stakeholders
• Work closely with clients to understand their needs and expectations, and ensure that the project execution is aligned with the expected outcomes
• Participate in disaster recovery planning
• Performs additional duties as may be assigned

Requirements:

• Good knowledge and proven experience of Optic Fiber design and specifications
• Good knowledge of active and passive optical networks and the FTTX (Fiber to anywhere) concept Network modeling and simulation
• Good knowledge of network design using KMZ files, Geographic Information System (GIS), AutoCAD, and other similar software proficiency
• Knowledge of fiber optic technologies such as DWDM, broadband Wi-Fi, etc.
• Network troubleshooting expertise
• Organizational skills:  adept at managing multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and efficiently
• Good knowledge of industry standards and regulations
• Analytical skills, teachable and willing to learn
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering or a related field
• At least 5-6 years of experience in fiber optic network design
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suites
• Experience with AutoCAD, MS Visio, and related applications
