About Us:

KOIAK LLC is a next generation language service provider that specializes in providing accurate Over-the-Phone Interpreting (OPI) and Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) services across various industries. Our interpreters facilitate transparent communication between people speaking different languages in the USA, Canada and the UK, ensuring messages are conveyed accurately and completely.

Job Responsibilities:

• Professionally answer calls and adhere to the Interpreter's code of conduct.
• Take detailed notes during calls and maintain awareness of industry-specific vocabulary, particularly in the healthcare and medical sectors.
• Provide accurate interpretations without adding, omitting, or substituting information.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and facilitate communication.
• Participate in internal professional training and pursue additional certifications.
• Collaborate with team leaders and adhere to dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

Requirements:

• Fluency in English and IBO (bilingual/ Native/ professional)
• Minimum 6 months of experience in over-the-phone interpretation, preferably with a reputable interpretation company.
• Familiarity with legal and medical terminology is advantageous.
• International certifications in healthcare interpreting (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA) are desirable.
• High school diploma in the IBO language.
• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.

Technical Specifications:

As this position is fully remote, you should comply with several technical requirements for your computer. We need to be sure that your home office will work effectively.

• Computer or laptop should be Windows 10 or newer, with Pentium, or I3 processor. Minimum: Core 2 Duo 2.1 GHz / Recommended: i5 / i7 2.4 GHz and above.
• Linux systems must be running Kernel version 5.18 or later.
• Mac systems must have macOS Ventura or later.
• Working machine should have a 4 GB RAM Minimum (8GB recommended).
• We require an excellent ethernet connection (Wi-Fi and Satellite Internet connection are not allowed) Internet speed of 4Mbps Download/Upload.
• Noise-canceling, wired headset with built-in microphone (no wireless or Bluetooth headsets permitted).
