We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our team and assist in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and preparing financial books for auditors.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update financial records, including income, expenses, and budgets.
  • Reconcile accounts and ensure the accuracy of all financial transactions.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for management review.
  • Organize and manage receipts, invoices, and supporting documentation for expenses.
  • Assist in preparing financial books for annual audits, ensuring compliance with Nigerian tax regulations and non-profit standards.
  • Develop and maintain a system for filing and organizing financial records.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to improve budget management.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure all financial policies are adhered to.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper, accountant, or finance officer, preferably in a non-profit or charity organization.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and compliance requirements for non-profits.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • A degree or diploma in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.


Work Schedule: The bookkeeper will be required to work once a month to update records, reconcile accounts, and prepare reports. Flexibility for additional hours may be requested during audit preparation periods.
