Physics/Mathematics Teacher

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive lessons in Physics, Mathematics, and Further Mathematics to senior secondary school students.
• Develop lesson plans, teaching materials, and instructional strategies aligned with curriculum standards.
• Ensure lessons are tailored to address diverse learning styles and abilities.
• Prepare students thoroughly for SSCE (WAEC/NECO) and JAMB examinations.
• Conduct regular assessments, mock exams, and revision sessions to track and improve student performance.
• Provide insights into examination techniques and time management.
• Identify and address learning challenges faced by students.
• Provide additional support to struggling students through extra coaching or after-school sessions.
• Mentor students on academic and career pathways related to Physics and Mathematics.
• Maintain a positive and disciplined learning environment.
• Establish clear rules and expectations to promote a productive classroom culture.
• Stay updated with the latest teaching methodologies and curriculum changes.
• Participate in teacher training programs and workshops to enhance skills.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Mathematics, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
• Teaching qualification (PGDE, NCE, or equivalent certification).
• Minimum of 2-5 years of teaching experience at the senior secondary school level.
• Proven track record of preparing students for SSCE and JAMB examinations with outstanding results.
• Strong knowledge of Physics, Mathematics, and Further Mathematics curriculum.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to use technology and teaching aids to enhance learning.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to address individual and group learning challenges.
• Strong classroom management skills and ability to motivate students.
• Passion for education and commitment to student success.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other staff and school administration.
• Willingness to participate in extracurricular activities and school programs.
