Our vision is to build a prosperous Africa driven by a seamless exchange of value and commerce.
Key Responsibilities
The key focus of this role is to fill existing gaps in how our team approaches and leverages quantitative research. This includes:
- Identify and fill knowledge gaps: Analyze existing UX research processes to identify areas where quantitative data can add value, addressing gaps where qualitative insights alone are insufficient.
- Develop data-backed hypotheses: Work closely with UX designers, product managers, and developers to formulate hypotheses and validate them with data, closing gaps in user feedback and behaviour tracking.
- Implement data analysis: Design, run, and analyze large-scale A/B tests, and behavioural data to fill gaps in our understanding of user journeys and pain points.
- Key metrics definition: Define critical success metrics for new features and existing products that are currently lacking in measurement.
- Collaborate to fill research voids: Partner with qualitative researchers to balance and integrate quantitative insights, ensuring a more holistic understanding of users.
- Proactively address blind spots: Work cross-functionally to identify areas where data collection and user understanding are lacking, offering solutions to bridge these gaps.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field such as Human-Computer Interaction, Statistics, Data Science, or a related discipline.
Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in quantitative UX research, with a focus on filling critical data gaps.
- Proven experience in quantitative data collection methods like surveys, A/B tests, and behavioural analytics.
Skills:
- Expertise in research methodologies that can uncover areas of user behavior currently not captured by the team.
- Proficiency in statistical tools (e.g., R, Python, SQL) to analyze and interpret large data sets, particularly those that have been overlooked or underutilized.
- Experience working with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to present actionable insights clearly and address blind spots in user understanding.
- Technical Skills: Ability to implement and track quantitative studies that complement ongoing qualitative research efforts.
Key Competencies
- Data-driven Insight Generation: Skilled at identifying key areas where the team lacks quantitative insights and generating actionable data to address these gaps.
- Cross-team Collaboration: Strong ability to work with UX designers and product teams to ensure all angles of user behaviour are understood.
- Problem-solving: Adept at recognizing and filling research voids where current methodologies do not provide sufficient insight.
- Communication: Strong communication skills to present findings and fill gaps in current user journey understanding to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proactive Learning: Continuously seeks out opportunities to improve and fill knowledge gaps within the UX team, pushing for data-driven solutions to unknowns.
