The Production Officer will oversee and manage the entire production process for spices, cereals, and oils. This includes ensuring efficient manufacturing operations, maintaining quality control, managing resources, and adhering to health, safety, and regulatory standards. The role is critical in ensuring the consistent quality and timely delivery

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day production of spices, cereals, and oils.
- Ensure production schedules are met, and adjust as necessary to meet demand.
- Manage and optimize the use of raw materials, labor, and equipment.
- Implement and monitor quality control systems to ensure all products meet company standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to address and resolve quality issues.
- Identify areas for process improvement to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and techniques to streamline production.
- Monitor production data and metrics to evaluate performance and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure the availability of raw materials, tools, and equipment needed for production.
- Coordinate with suppliers to maintain the stock of raw materials and manage inventory levels.
- Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and dispatch of finished products.
- Supervise, train, and mentor production staff to meet production goals and maintain high-quality standards.
- Manage work schedules, assign tasks, and monitor employee performance.
- Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols and conducting regular safety training.
- Ensure all production activities adhere to local, state, and federal regulations related to food safety and health standards.
- Maintain proper documentation of production processes, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance records.
- Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and best practices in food production.
- Prepare and submit production reports on output, efficiency, costs, and other performance indicators.
- Provide recommendations for process improvements and investment in new equipment or technology.
Requirements:
- OND/Bachelor's degree/HNDĀ in Food Science, Production Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in production management, preferably in the food industry.
- Experience in spice, cereal, or oil production is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of quality assurance, health, and safety standards.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in production software and data analysis tools.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations (HACCP, ISO, etc.).
- Ability to lead and motivate teams.
