Production Officer

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day production of spices, cereals, and oils.
• Ensure production schedules are met, and adjust as necessary to meet demand.
• Manage and optimize the use of raw materials, labor, and equipment.
• Implement and monitor quality control systems to ensure all products meet company standards.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with the quality assurance team to address and resolve quality issues.
• Identify areas for process improvement to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles and techniques to streamline production.
• Monitor production data and metrics to evaluate performance and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure the availability of raw materials, tools, and equipment needed for production.
• Coordinate with suppliers to maintain the stock of raw materials and manage inventory levels.
• Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and dispatch of finished products.
• Supervise, train, and mentor production staff to meet production goals and maintain high-quality standards.
• Manage work schedules, assign tasks, and monitor employee performance.
• Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols and conducting regular safety training.
• Ensure all production activities adhere to local, state, and federal regulations related to food safety and health standards.
• Maintain proper documentation of production processes, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance records.
• Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and best practices in food production.
• Prepare and submit production reports on output, efficiency, costs, and other performance indicators.
• Provide recommendations for process improvements and investment in new equipment or technology.

Requirements:

• OND/Bachelor's degree/HND  in Food Science, Production Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in production management, preferably in the food industry.
• Experience in spice, cereal, or oil production is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of quality assurance, health, and safety standards.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency in production software and data analysis tools.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations (HACCP, ISO, etc.).
• Ability to lead and motivate teams.
