We are seeking a dynamic and accomplished individual to join our Department of Economics as a Professor. Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate lectures in core and elective economics courses. 
  • Develop and supervise student research at undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels. 
  • Conduct and publish high-quality, peer-reviewed research in leading academic journals. 
  • Secure external funding for research projects and collaborative initiatives.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous program improvement.
  • Participate in departmental, faculty, and university governance and service.
  • Foster partnerships with academic, public, and private sector stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior faculty and support the academic growth of students. 


Requirements:

  • A Ph.D. in Economics or a closely related field. 
  • A strong track record of scholarly research and peer-reviewed publications.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and course development at the university level.
  • Experience in academic supervision and mentorship. 
  • Evidence of securing or contributing to research grants or external funding.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 


Desirable: 

  • International teaching or research experience. 
  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas: development economics, applied econometrics, environmental economics, macroeconomic policy, behavioral economics, or data science in economics. 
  • Engagement with policy-making or consultancy projects. 
  • A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in academia.


Remuneration: NGN 500,000
