We’re thrilled to be looking for a practical, results-driven Program Manager with expertise in Gender & Youth to join our team – and we hope you’re the one!


Your role.

As a Program Manager specializing in Gender & Youth, you will lead and oversee the design, implementation, and management of programs focused on gender and youth interventions. You'll ensure that all contractual obligations with implementing partners and donors related to gender are fulfilled, while aligning with IDH’s objectives and procedures.


Main responsibilities:


Program Development and Implementation:

· Provide technical leadership in agenda setting on gender and youth integration, implementation, measurement, and reporting.

· Oversee technical work, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

· Develop technical guidelines and solutions to meet specific program requirements.

· Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient and effective program delivery.

· Support the implementation of IDH Environmental and Social policy guidelines related to safeguarding the interest and rights of marginalized groups within sectors.

Operational Management:

· Provide oversight capacity support to implementing partners on inclusive business modeling with specific focus on gender, youth and persons with disability.

· Manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and ensure compliance with financial and administrative policies.

· Ensure timely and accurate reporting of program activities and outcomes.

Stakeholder Engagement:

· Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government entities, private sector partners, and NGOs internally and externally

· Convene industry stakeholders, governments and sector players on relevant topics related to IDH and its partners agenda on equity and inclusion within food systems in Nigeria.

· Represent the organization at national and international networks and platforms.


Who you are.

· Master’s degree in gender studies, social sciences, development studies or related field.

· 5-7 years of relevant working experience in designing, implementing, and managing programs that focus on gender equality and youth empowerment within the context of sustainable development or agriculture value chains, international organizations or settings, preferably business related, project management, or in public-private partnerships.

· Proven track record of working on gender-sensitive programs and youth-focused interventions in developing countries, particularly in sectors such as agriculture, trade, or natural resources.

· Experience in gender analysis and youth engagement strategies, demonstrating the ability to integrate gender and youth considerations into policies, programs, and business models.

· Familiarity with frameworks like the Women’s Empowerment in Agriculture Index (WEAI) and other tools used to measure gender and youth impact in sustainable trade

· Strong experience in designing gender and youth-sensitive projects that are aligned with IDH’s sustainability goals and deliver measurable impact in terms of inclusion.

· Expertise in monitoring and evaluation of gender and youth outcomes, using tools such as gender-disaggregated data and qualitative assessments to track progress.

· Strong understanding of sustainability issues and supply chain management.

· Excellent convening, facilitation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to work across different cultures.

· Proficiency in project management tools


We offer you

A challenging, pivotal role within an impacting, international organisation – and:

· A full-time (40 hours) 1 year contract initially, with the intention to extend (as this is a permanent position).
