The Program Operations Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising project execution to efficiently transform inputs into outputs. This role includes procurement, managing relationships with stakeholders, and enhancing resource sustainability. The Operations Team, which the manager leads, supports various departments by designing, implementing, and managing operational processes. Each Program Operations Manager oversees a specific area, identifying needs, co-designing strategies with management, and ensuring effective training, monitoring, and continuous improvement of programs.
Requirements
Degree in Social Science, Engineering, or other relevant field (advanced degree or exceptional work experience and performance will be an added advantage) Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in program and project management with progressively increasing responsibilities and accomplishments. In-depth understanding of programming issues and policy work at state, national and international levels and excellent knowledge and experience of program planning, reviews, monitoring and evaluation is essential. Excellent language skills in English, including the ability to compose, edit, analyse and report using complex information. Demonstrated in-depth experience working across disciplinary boundaries, and with multiple stakeholders – both public and private – in building collaborative alliances for results. Track record of leading and managing complex work programs with proven results. Ideal candidates should have experience identifying business challenges through data and observation and demonstrated proficiency analysing and managing large amounts of data. Have good interpersonal and leadership skills. Experience bringing ideas and programmes to scale, working at similar ambitious organizations, and building and managing teams, including across countries. Experience from international non-governmental organizations will be an added advantage.
