As we embark on a major project in Abuja, Nigeria, we are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team and manage procurement and cost-related functions. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a critical role in preparing accurate cost estimates, BOQs, and managing project costs. You’ll work closely with teams both in Nigeria and Australia to ensure procurement aligns with budgets and international standards. This is a hands-on role that requires an in-depth understanding of the Abuja market, including supplier networks and construction costs.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Ethical Sourcing: Responsible for the ethical sourcing of components, goods, and services.
- Cost Estimation & BOQs: Prepare accurate cost estimates and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for construction materials and services.
- Supplier Management: Leverage your knowledge of the Abuja market to negotiate competitive rates with suppliers and contractors.
- Budget Management: Work closely with the project teams in Nigeria and Australia to ensure alignment with overall project budgets.
- Cost Analysis & Reporting: Provide regular cost analysis and detailed reports to Australian stakeholders.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to project costs, supplier performance, and market volatility.
- Value for Money Procurement: Ensure efficient cost management while maintaining quality and meeting project timelines.
- Compliance & Risk: Ensure procurement activities comply with Nigerian regulations and project-specific requirements.
- International Standards Compliance: Read and understand standard work package scope documents, Australian Standards, or other international standards. You will identify suppliers who meet these standards or provide equivalent alternatives.
Requirements:
- Experience: 5 years of proven experience in quantity surveying and cost estimation in the Nigerian construction sector.
- Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Abuja market, including supplier networks, construction costs, and material availability.
- Technical Skills: Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and estimation software like Bluebeam, MS Project, and MS Excel.
- Communication & Organisation Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to report clearly to Australian management.
- Education: Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Government Projects: Familiarity with government projects and compliance with regulations is a plus.
- Language Proficiency: Moderate to excellent English skills.
