Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Estimating costs: QSs estimate the cost of materials, labor, and other resources
- Preparing bills of quantities: QSs prepare detailed bills of quantities (BOQs) for projects
- Managing budgets: QSs manage budgets throughout the construction process
- Managing contracts: QSs negotiate contracts and work schedules with clients and contractors
- Managing risks: QSs identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them
- Ensuring compliance: QSs ensure that projects comply with building regulations and health and safety legislation
Requirements:
- Analytical and numerical skills: QSs need to be able to accurately estimate costs and analyze project data
- Attention to detail: QSs need to be able to carefully measure and quantify materials and labor
- Communication and negotiation skills: QSs need to be able to liaise with clients, contractors, and other construction professionals
