Renewable Energy Installer/Technician

Responsibilities:

• Conduct technical site surveys to assess suitability for renewable energy installations (e.g., solar panels, inverters, battery systems).
• Take accurate site measurements, evaluate roof or ground conditions, shading analysis, and structural integrity.
• Prepare detailed site survey reports, including system layout recommendations and electrical tie-in points.
• Install renewable energy systems (primarily solar PV, inverters, batteries, etc.) according to design specifications and local electrical codes.
• Perform wiring, mounting of equipment, and system integration in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.
• Ensure systems are securely installed and waterproofed where applicable.
• Test system performance using appropriate diagnostic tools and ensure optimal functionality.
• Identify and resolve technical issues, including electrical or mechanical faults.
• Conduct inspections and repairs of installed systems as needed.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, electrical regulations, and industry best practices on site.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, permitting requirements, and environmental guidelines.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, service reports, and site assessments.
• Provide feedback to design and engineering teams to improve system planning and performance.
• Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and project managers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections of renewable energy systems.
• Educate clients on system operation, monitoring, and basic troubleshooting.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., NABCEP, PV Installation Professional, or equivalent) are a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites.
• Hands-on experience with the installation, maintenance, or inspection of solar PV, wind turbines, or battery storage systems.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring, and basic circuitry.
• Proficiency with tools and diagnostic equipment used in renewable energy installations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and system diagrams.
• Experience conducting site assessments for solar or other renewable energy systems.
• Familiarity with tools and software used for shading analysis, GPS mapping, and data collection.
• Attention to detail in measurements, structural assessments, and system layout planning.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team.
• Good communication skills for interacting with clients, team members, and supervisors.
• High level of professionalism, punctuality, and reliability.
• Physical fitness to work at heights, on roofs, or in outdoor conditions for extended periods.
• Knowledge of safety standards and ability to work in compliance with OSHA or relevant local safety regulations.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies in the renewable energy space.
