Job Description
Strategic Functions:
- Work with executive management and business teams across the Group in researching and developing business models to support new business initiatives and expand existing impact initiatives.
- Work with executive management across the Group in dimensioning research & business development requirements, identifying & pursuing research & business development options (research, proposals, product roadmap design, business case population or a combination thereof) and designing/developing detailed graphically appealing reports.
- Work with research & business development teams across the Group to acquire business data to build informative presentations while making recommendations to support executive management decision making and execution.
Core Functions:
- Conduct research using appropriate tools to provide information and analyse ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Development of concept papers for new projects/businesses/opportunities.
- Developing business proposals, reports, and case studies by working with team members.
- Evaluate potential business opportunities from existing projects periodically.
- Engage with external stakeholders alongside managers as needed.
- Assist in documenting business cases with market assumptions and projections.
- Participate in reviews of business processes and development of optimisation strategies.
- Stay up to date on process and IT advancements to help automate and modernise systems.
- Effectively communicate insights to team members.
- Gather information from meetings and produce reports.
- Research organisations and individuals to identify new opportunities.
- Support efforts to increase value for current clients and attract new ones.
- Attend industry events as required.
- Assist in developing quotes and proposals for clients.
- Conduct market analysis.
- Support the development of growth strategies and plans.
- Help identify business strengths and map customer needs.
- Create presentations and deliver information as needed.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business management, marketing, mathematics, physics or related field.
- First class, 2:1 or 2:2 honours
- 2-6 years' relevant work experience in research & business development or similar field preferred.
- Lateral thinking and ability to put ideas into righting with little to no supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Friendly and personable demeanour.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant software.
