Job Summary

The qualified candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the architectural and construction firm complies with all safety regulations and creates a safe work environment for all employees. The ideal candidate will develop safety policies, conduct regular safety inspections, and train employees on safety practices to prevent accidents.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Review and update safety policies regularly to ensure they reflect current laws and best practices.
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify potential hazards in the workplace.
  • Develop and implement control measures to mitigate identified risks.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of work sites, equipment, and tools to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Report findings and recommend corrective actions to address any safety violations or hazards.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine their causes and prevent future occurrences.
  • Prepare detailed reports on incidents and recommend preventive measures.
  • Develop and conduct safety training programs for employees, including new hire orientation, refresher courses, and specific hazard training.
  • Maintain training records and ensure all employees receive required safety training.
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans and conduct regular drills.
  • Ensure all employees are familiar with emergency procedures and evacuation routes.
  • Monitor compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, training sessions, and compliance audits.
  • Prepare and submit regular safety reports to management.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Certification in occupational safety (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, IOSH) is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a safety officer or in a similar role, preferably in the construction industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and training abilities.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
