Role Overview
Melon is looking for experienced and motivated Business Development and Sales
Specialists to join the team. In this role, you will drive growth by identifying, prospecting,
and securing partnerships with businesses. You will play a vital part in helping businesses
unlock the value of Melon’s platform and ensure long-term success by fostering strong,
impactful relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Generation & Outreach:
- Identify, prospect, and initiate partnerships with potential business clients across relevant industries.
- Develop and maintain a strong pipeline through various outreach methods, including cold calls, emails, and networking.
2. Client Engagement & Sales Process:
- Conduct sales presentations and product demonstrations to showcase Melon’s platform value to potential clients.
- Customize proposals to meet client needs, addressing specific goals and showcasing how Melon can drive customer engagement.
- Train and support clients to maximize their use of their Melon platform
3. Relationship Management:
- Cultivate and manage long-term relationships with new and existing partners, acting as the main point of contact.
- Ensure partner satisfaction through regular check-ins, identifying opportunities for further upselling, collaboration and growth.
4. Market & Industry Research:
- Stay up-to-date on market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs within the rewards and loyalty industry.
- Leverage industry insights to identify opportunities for Melon to position itself as a leader in the market.
5. Collaboration & Strategy:
- Collaborate with Melon’s marketing and product teams to ensure alignment on client needs and expectations.
- Provide strategic input for product development and improvement based on client feedback.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of the Nigerian market and its unique consumer behavior.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management, ideally within the tech, loyalty, or rewards industry.
- Proven ability to build and manage client relationships.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Proactive, Innovative goal-oriented, and highly organized.
