Our Sales Manager is responsible for leading the planning, implementing, managing, and overseeing of the company's overall sales strategy for our existing services in collaboration with the management team. Your main responsibility will be to drive our business success by implementing a strong and sustainable sales strategy.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Drawing up effective and industry-relevant sales strategies for national team activities in collaboration with the management team;
  • Build a plan for locating prospects and leads for all our services across various platforms and geographies;
  • Setting sales goals and developing sales strategies to attain the goals;
  • Conduct market research to evaluate gaps, opportunities, and alien needs;
  • Managing and overseeing the sales process and activities through specific in-house software programs;
  • Learning and understanding the details about our technology products and the services they offer users;
  • Understanding all the prospect's needs, problems, or wants based on their various categories and locations across the country;
  • Participating in conferences, exhibitions, programs, seminars, and training to meet with potential clients and act as their consultant;
  • Up-selling related relevant services to our users when appropriate and training the sales team to do so;
  • Build and oversee the logistics network and activity for input delivery to customers across the various locations;
  • Build and maintain input supplier relationships for purchasing and restocking products;
  • Build an inventory management system and supervise the team’s frequent stock-taking activities;
  • Work in collaboration with the finance team to ensure the smooth running of the petty cash, sale invoice, and receipts system;
  • Promote and retail input credit to smallholder farmers through visits to designated associations, cooperatives, and local government to support farmers' development by input financing;
  • Ensure screening of prospective borrowers, including visiting their associations/cooperative meetings, completing the loan applications, analyzing the loan requests, and recommending disbursement;
  • Through individual marketing and promotion channels, supervise the financing of new and repeated loans to increase the size of the farmer's portfolio;
  • Monitor and leverage an adequate healthy caseload of active borrowers;
  • Follows up on payments of performing portfolio to ensure adequate repayment rate;
  • In coordination with the Sales team, follow up on payments of the bad portfolios from delinquent farmers to reduce its volume;
  • Hire, build relationships, and manage the Direct Sales Agent (DSA) network;
  • Preparing and documenting monthly customer and loan reports through authorized channel;
  • Collaborate with the Customer Support Lead to identify and build personalized buyer persona profiles for all converting customers;
  • Consult with the Growth and Marketing team to ensure the efficiency of the sales strategy;
  • Identify the most important sales KPIs and track them for effective decision-making;
  • Document, prepare, and present sales reports to management on an ongoing basis;
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry sales trends and best practices for conversion;
  • Collaborate with HR to recruit, hire, and train new sales representatives.
  • Other relevant tasks as may be assigned from time to time.


Requirements:

  • Over 5 years of working experience as a sales professional with expertise in closing product and service-related sales
  • Prior experience in the agriculture, technology, or fintech industry
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented, desire to deliver results
  • Prior experience marketing alongside marketing and negotiating skills is a plus
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and stakeholder management
  • Proficiency in Google WorkSpace, CRM, and sales software programs.
  • Available and able to travel when required
  • Having bilingual skills is an added advantage (Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo)
