School Nurse

Responsibilities:

• Provide first aid and emergency care for students and staff as needed.
• Manage and maintain student health records, including immunization records and medical history.
• Administer medications and treatments to students as prescribed by healthcare providers.
• Conduct routine health screenings (e.g., vision, hearing, scoliosis) and follow up on results.
• Educate students, parents, and staff on health-related issues, such as hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention.
• Develop and implement health care plans for students with chronic illnesses or special medical needs.
• Monitor and manage communicable diseases, providing guidance on health and safety protocols.
• Maintain a clean and organized health clinic, ensuring proper storage of medical supplies and equipment.
• Coordinate with local health authorities and medical professionals as needed.
• Participate in school safety drills and health-related emergency preparedness

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or a Diploma in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Valid nursing license or certification
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in nursing, preferably in a pediatric or school setting.
• Current certification in First Aid and CPR.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with students, parents, and staff.
• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.Compassionate, patient, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
