Job Description
The Account Developer is a part of NIQ/GfK’s ‘Consumer and Marketing Insights’ team responsible for East West Africa (EWA) and serves as link to our FMCG clients. The role is to be a trusted adviser to our FMCG customers in the EWA region, matching CMI solutions to the clients’ key business questions. This encompasses business growth targets for existing clients and overall responsibility for driving revenue growth of the assigned FMCG Vertical.
Candidates will need to have at least 6-7 years of experience in market research or account management. They will also have strong interpersonal skills and use these to dive deep into the clients’ businesses, truly understanding the challenges and questions. They live and breathe clients and can demonstrate the value of CMI solutions, thus driving engagement and growth in the business.
You will...
- Lead and develop a defined list of FMCG accounts on behalf of NIQ/GfKs CMI EWA region, i.e. act as the main point of contact and trusted advisor for key clients
- Conduct regular business reviews with clients and develop & execute strategic account plans
- Understand client strategies, structures and key business questions to build sustainable client relationships and intimacy
- Develop new and existing relationships (up to senior level) with customers to achieve sales growth
- Understand and sell the value of the CMI portfolio
- Lead contract negotiations both for new sales and renewals, incl. proposal writing, price calculations and pitch presentations
- Grow the revenue base of your accounts, ensuring targets are met or exceeded
- Work with CMI customer success teams to meet and exceed client expectations and identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling
- Liaise cross-functionally with other NIQ/GfK brands & teams with a focus on a holistic client centric experience
- Build and maintain an accurate and reliable pipeline within the CRM tool (Salesforce/MSD) and provide accurate sales forecasts on a regular basis
- Involve yourself in project set-up and delivery when needed for enforcing/ building a client relation and/or due to capacity shortages within the CMI customer success teams
- Keep abreast of market research methodologies, clients’ industry trends, and competitor activities
You have...
- A bachelor's degree or post graduate qualification
- Minimum 6-7 years work experience in market research or account management
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of market research methods
- Experience in sales or consultancy role would be very welcomed but is not necessary
- Strong client-oriented attitude
- Ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships
- Able to “actively listen” to clients, identify business opportunities and understand how to commercialize them
- Strong pitch and proposal writing skills
- Willingness to go the extra mile
- Passion, energy and drive, enthusiasm to learn and develop
- Able to work autonomously and establish own priorities and objectives
- Comfortable working across teams, bringing together people from different areas of the business
- Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Software skills/ MS Office, especially PowerPoint
