Role Description

Are you an experienced data scientist with a commitment to making a global impact? USAID/Nigeria is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our Health, Population, and Nutrition (HPN) Office in Abuja, Nigeria. This critical role requires Secret Clearance, ensuring that you bring both expertise and security to support some of USAID’s largest and most complex health programs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead data science initiatives across USAID’s health portfolio, utilizing advanced analytics, machine learning, and data visualization to drive impactful decision-making and program improvement.
• Train and guide USAID staff and partners in advanced data analytics, visualization, and integrating data insights into health programming.
• Manage project activities, including work plans, budgets, and performance monitoring, aligning with USAID’s strategic health goals.
• Collaborate with global health stakeholders and the Nigerian government to foster data-informed decision-making, strengthening health systems at scale.

Qualifications:

• Security Clearance Required: Secret Clearance for U.S. Citizens or equivalent access for Third Country Nationals.
• Master’s degree in Epidemiology, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.
• 8+ years of data science and analytics experience with proficiency in tools like Python, R, Tableau, and PowerBI.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.

Location: Abuja, Nigeria, with local travel up to 15%.
