Role Description

Job Title: Investment Associate

About the role

Key responsibilities:

a.      Evaluating securities for inclusion or removal from portfolios.

b.      Managing strategic treasury allocation to different asset classes (Fixed Income, Equities and Alternatives).

c.      Managing daily treasury portfolio update reports.

d.      Preparation and evaluation of internal investment thesis on investment opportunities.

e.      Preparing periodic economic outlook reports.

f.       Coordinating the preparation and dissemination of research periodicals.

g.      Managing client portfolios in line with agreed PMA.

h.      Preparing portfolio Management proposals and pitching to prospective clients.

Strategic priorities:

a.      Contributing to the investment decision making process.

b.      Foster  positive  relationships  with  other  industry  actors  (brokers,  dealers  and  investment houses)

c.      Promote the company’s image through media engagements on economic matters.

d.      Contribute to the career development and knowledge growth of junior team members.

Experience and skills

Minimum Educational Requirement: BSc Candidate Experience:

a.      At least 4 years post NYSC.

b.      Preferable previous experience in an investment bank or investment service provider.

Key skills:

c.      Advanced proficiency in use of Microsoft Excel.

d.      Intermediate proficiency in the use of Microsoft word and PowerPoint.

e.      Good communication skills- both written and oral.

f.       High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

g.      Strong research ability – summarizing and presenting key findings.

h.      Highly developed problem-solving skills.

i.        Strong data analytics with the ability to identify and communicate market trends.
