Job Description

This is a full-time on-site role in Lagos for a Senior Project Head - Soybean Solvent Extraction & Edible Oil Refinery Projects. Candidate must have Strong hands on experiences in Projects of FMCG/Edible Oil/Foods industry. The role involves Develop the Project Plan from Scratch, Recruit Suppliers of OEM and EPCC, oversee day-to-day project activities, ensuring efficient energy management, and implementing renewable energy solutions in the energy industry.


Educational Qualifications & Work Experiences

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical Engineering with min.10+ years of Work Experiences as an Individual Contributor & Team Performer in FMCG/Foods/Edible Oil Refinery Projects. With min 10+ years Site Construction Engineer/Supervisory experiences, and min 5+ years in Senior Manager level of Construction/Engineering Projects Mandatory.
  • Experience in Soybean Solvent Extraction & Edible Oil Refinery Projects, Energy Management and Renewable Energy Projects.
  • Current (or) Previous Work Experience must be from construction and project management, in Managerial or Leadership role within the Engineering field. Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
  • Hands on Design experience in Warehouse & Factory Infra-structure Constructions, Water Mains, Storage Tanks, Sewage collection system, Sewage pump stations, Effluent Treatment Plants etc. will be added weightage to the profile.
  • Experience with Auto CAD/Civil 3D presentation/design, graphics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee engineering projects from conception to completion, including planning, design, and construction phases.
  • Lead a team of engineers and technicians, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
  • Responsible for all contract activities and performance metrics to meet construction project goals & objectives.
  • Responsible for the overall project performance and implementation of project management frameworks.
  • Manage and direct all phases of construction projects. Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes. Designs and implements project plans.
  • Develop project plans, budgets, and schedules, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Coordinate with Contractors, and regulatory agencies to obtain necessary approvals and permits.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and addressing any issues or delays that arise. Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to oversee construction activities and ensure quality control. Contribute to and manage development of technical reports, plans and specifications. Maintain open communication with project teams.
  • Proactively coach, train and empower project team members; handle oversight and maintain project requirements for safety, quality, efficiency to ensure they are maintained throughout the duration of the project.
  • Confirmed competence at all stages of the project life cycle, from developing scope, schedule and fee proposals to initiating projects with project controls, preparation or competent staff oversight of the preparations of feasibility studies, preliminary and final suitable for public agency construction, as well as contract solicitation and procurement and associated client management.
  • Provide mentorship and development advice to junior level staff.
  • Interact with suppliers, and regulators and manage projects to successful completion. Keep up to date with technical qualifications and licenses.
  • Prepares written reports and other documents necessary for the completion of specific projects; Create and track purchase order submissions.
  • Develop project schedules, budgets, and billings. Develop and execute comprehensive service plan. Assist with project scope and conceptual designing with Project Head
  • Research & Evaluate Local Vendors for pricing, equipment availability and staffing.
  • Evaluates, selects, specifies, and engineers all civil engineered systems or products for a project. Participates in constructability review
  • Engages in development of a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
  • Communicates with contractors/designers concerning project cost, staffing, and scheduling.
  • Prepares project status reports and works to ensure plans adhere to contract specifications.
  • Manage subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.
  • Conducts quality assurance and quality control on own projects.


Other Responsibilities: -

  • Enforce and Implement Company Policies & Standards on EHS - Workplace Safety, Behavioural Safety, Workers Punctuality, etc.
  • Review and get approval on all invoices and change orders associated with the projects from Project Head.
  • Prepare project status reports on a regular basis.
  • Utilizes technologies in development of three-dimensional models of civil systems and provides markups for junior engineers/designers.
  • Communicate with intercompany departments to meet project needs.
  • Develop, track, update, forecast and modify the project schedule and budget throughout all phases of the project (If required).
  • Conduct weekly meetings and communicate daily with Project Head and construction Team. Oversee inventory needs, shipments, Q/A procedures, Testing and Validation Documentation.
