Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Site Operations Engineer to oversee the operational activities of our office in Awka, Anambra State. This role is pivotal to ensuring smooth and efficient day-to-day operations within the office while leading a technical team in a fast-paced software and technology environment. The ideal candidate should have a strong passion for technology, a deep understanding of team leadership, and proven experience managing operational challenges in a dynamic setting. Additionally, the role involves frequent national and international travel.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Team Management: Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Awka office, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Operational Oversight: Oversee all operational aspects of the site, including facility management, IT infrastructure, security, and ensuring operational procedures are adhered to.
  • Team Development: Foster a high-performing team environment by providing guidance, support, and training to technical and non-technical staff.
  • Project Management: Coordinate and manage multiple operational projects to ensure timely delivery and alignment with company goals.
  • Technology Integration: Work closely with the IT department to ensure the seamless integration of software, tools, and technology solutions that support operational efficiency.
  • Travel: Coordinate with global offices and teams to ensure operational consistency across regions. Be prepared for both national and international travel to support operational needs.
  • Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and external service providers, ensuring that contractual agreements are maintained and deliverables met.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure that all operations comply with company policies, health and safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Problem Solving & Troubleshooting: Identify potential operational risks or bottlenecks and take a proactive approach to resolve them, ensuring minimal disruption to business processes.
  • Reporting & Metrics: Generate and maintain operational reports, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess and optimize site performance.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in site operations management, preferably in a software or technology-driven environment.
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience leading and mentoring teams operationally.
  • A deep understanding and passion for technology, including familiarity with IT systems and operational software solutions.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and decisive in high-pressure situations.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams and working closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across cultures and time zones.
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally as needed.

  

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with facility management and understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Familiarity with operational tools such as enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, ticketing systems, and collaboration tools.
  • Knowledge of risk management and business continuity planning.
