Job Description/Requirements
The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. Quantity surveyor will manage the costs on a construction project. He/She will help to ensure that the construction project is completed within its projected budget.
Responsibilities
- Analyze project budgets and make improvements to ensure project sustainability
- Review construction plans and prepare material quantity estimates
- Negotiate with various contractors
- Estimate building and project costs
- Consider design preferences and evaluate the plans against applicable regulations and standards in cost estimation
- Evaluate the quantity and costs of materials required, the labor hours needed, and track progress payments
- Conduct site inspections and hold discussions with key supervisors.
- Provide periodic updates and forecast project futures, identifying cost saving opportunities.
- Undertake measurements of sites and buildings to ensure it conforms to the plan.
- Visit sites to ensure sub-contractors are conforming to plans
- Ensure costs, payment and technical specification clauses are accurately and appropriately drafted.
- Plan procurement and tendering strategy.
- Prepare Bill of quantities (BoQ) and tender document
Remuneration: N400,000 NET
Qualifications
- B.Sc/M.Sc. in quantity surveying, engineering management or similar related discipline
- Nigeria Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) or Quantity Surveyors Registration Board of Nigeria (QSRBN) Certifications
- 7-10Years of experience in Quantity Surveyor Field.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Sound knowledge of construction.
- Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills
- Ability to organize, plan and strategize
