Job Summary
We are looking for a creative and tech-savvy Social Media Manager to develop and manage the online presence of our pet store in Lekki. The ideal candidate will have experience in social media marketing, content creation, and community engagement, with a passion for pets and digital communication. As the Social Media Manager, you will be responsible for creating and executing strategies to promote our brand, engage with customers, and increase followers on platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and more.

Job Description/Requirements
Social Media Strategy:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy to enhance the store’s online presence, increase brand awareness, and drive sales.
- Identify target audiences and tailor content to engage pet owners and enthusiasts in Lekki and beyond.
Content Creation:
- Create high-quality, engaging content including images, videos, stories, and written posts that showcase our products, promotions, services, and the pets we care for.
- Plan and execute a content calendar that aligns with the store’s marketing campaigns, holidays, and special events.
- Use photography, videography, and graphic design skills to highlight products, in-store activities, and pet care tips.
Community Engagement:
- Engage with followers, respond to comments, messages, and inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Build and maintain relationships with pet influencers, customers, and the local pet community to foster positive brand interaction.
- Run contests, giveaways, and interactive polls to engage with the online community and grow followers.
Social Media Analytics:
- Track and analyze the performance of social media posts and campaigns using platform analytics and tools like Google Analytics.
- Provide regular reports on key metrics (engagement rates, follower growth, traffic, etc.) and adjust strategies based on data insights.
- Stay updated on social media trends, platform changes, and algorithm updates.
Advertising and Promotions:
- Manage paid social media advertising campaigns to promote products, events, and special offers.
- Optimize ad performance by targeting the right audience and managing budgets effectively.
- Coordinate with the store team to promote in-store events, sales, and new product launches through online channels.
Brand Consistency:
- Ensure that all social media content reflects the store’s brand voice, values, and visual identity.
- Collaborate with the marketing and store teams to maintain consistent messaging across all marketing channels, including the website, email newsletters, and in-store promotions.
Customer Feedback and Reputation Management:
- Monitor online reviews and mentions of the store on social media platforms and review websites.
- Address customer feedback, both positive and negative, constructively and professionally.
- Implement strategies to encourage satisfied customers to leave positive reviews and share their experiences.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1-3 years of experience managing social media accounts for brands, preferably in retail or a related field.
- Proven track record of growing social media accounts and creating engaging content.
- Knowledge of pet care and the ability to create content that appeals to pet owners is a strong advantage.
- Proficient in social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer) and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Instagram/Facebook Insights).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
- Must reside in Lekki or surrounding areas.
- Social Media Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and other relevant platforms, including best practices, tools, and trends.
- Content Creation: Strong skills in photography, videography, and graphic design (experience with tools like Canva, Photoshop, or video editing software is a plus).
- Writing Skills: Excellent written communication, with the ability to create engaging, error-free posts that align with the brand’s tone.
- Creativity: A creative mindset to develop innovative social media campaigns and content that will capture attention and promote the store.
- Analytics: Ability to analyze data, track social media performance, and adjust strategies to improve reach and engagement.
- Customer Engagement: Strong interpersonal skills to interact with followers, answer inquiries, and build a community around the brand.
