Job Summary: The Social Media Officer is responsible for managing CardinalStone's online presence across various social media platforms. This includes creating, curating, and posting engaging content, monitoring social media channels, responding to audience interactions, and analyzing performance metrics. The role requires creativity, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of the latest social media trends. The Social Media Officer will work closely with the Brand and Corporate Communications team to enhance brand visibility, grow the online community, and drive engagement, in line with the company’s overall objectives and brand voice.
Location: Yaba, Lagos
1. Content Creation & Management:
· Develop, schedule, and post engaging content (text, images, videos) across various social media platforms.
· Ensure content aligns with the brand's voice and objectives.
· Work with the team to produce the internal newsletter monthly and other internal communications
· Coordinate with the agency/design team to ensure prompt delivery of content
· Ability to use basic content creation tools like Canva, Capcut etc
2. Social Media Strategy:
· Assist in developing and implementing social media strategies to enhance brand awareness, engagement, and audience growth.
· Ensure timely development of monthly social media calendar
· Stay up-to-date with social media trends, algorithm changes, and new features to optimize strategy.
· Search Engine Marketing (SEM): Experience in managing paid search campaigns (e.g., Google Ads), optimizing keyword bids, and analyzing SEM performance to increase traffic and conversions will be an additional advantage
3. Community Engagement:
· Monitor, respond to, and engage with followers' comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
· Collate leads from social media for the various businesses
4. Performance Analysis:
· Track, analyse, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as engagement, reach, and growth.
· Use data insights to refine content and strategies for better results.
5. Collaboration:
· Work closely with the Brand and Corporate Communications Team to develop cohesive campaigns and ensure social media efforts align with broader company’s goals.
· Collaborate with relevant external stakeholders like influencers or partners to amplify campaigns and brand messages if required
6. Brand Consistency:
· Ensure that all social media activities maintain brand consistency in terms of tone, style, and visual identity.
· Manage social media brand assets, such as cover photos and profile images, to ensure they are up-to-date.
7. Campaign Management:
· Plan and execute social media campaigns, including paid advertising, contests, and promotions, to drive engagement and lead generation.
· Track campaign success and adjust as needed.
8. Reputation Management on social media:
· Monitor social media for mentions of the brand or relevant industry trends, and proactively address any negative sentiment or crises.
· Handle customer feedback and concerns on social media with professionalism and care.
9. Innovative Content Development:
· Experiment with new content formats (e.g., stories, reels, live streams) and tools to keep the audience engaged and increase brand reach.
10. Competitor Monitoring:
· Keep an eye on competitors' social media activities to identify opportunities and stay ahead in industry trends.
And other duties assigned by the Head, Brand and Corporate Communications
Required skills: Content Creation, Copywriting, Social Media Strategy, Platform Expertise, Analytics and Reporting, Graphic Design Basics, Community Management, Creativity, SEO and Paid Advertising
Job Requirement
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in skills listed above
B.SC in any related field
Must have completed NYSC
