Soil Scientist

Job Description

• Conduct comprehensive soil tests to evaluate physical, chemical, and biological properties (e.g., pH levels, nutrient content, texture, and moisture).
• Analyze soil samples for fertility, composition, contamination, and environmental impact assessments.
• Plan and execute field surveys, soil sampling, and site assessments for agriculture, forestry, and environmental projects.
• Collect, record, and interpret data related to soil structure, erosion, drainage, and overall health.
• Conduct research to explore organic agricultural practices, soil conservation techniques, and methods to improve soil health.
• Develop soil management strategies, such as crop rotation, cover cropping, and organic amendments to enhance soil productivity.
• Communicate research findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including farmers, policymakers, and corporate partners.

Requirements

• Minimum academic qualification of a B.Sc. in Soil Science or other related fields.
• 2 years of relevant work experience in a similar role.
• Organized and hardworking.
• Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and people management skills.
• Intermediate Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
• Possess a high degree of organization and attention to detail.
