Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and solutions Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in solar energy systems, as well as solar systems that can be combined with existing grid supplies, and design solar PV solutions tailored to both residential and commercial properties.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site evaluations of potential solar PV installation locations, including roof inspections and assessments of shading, orientation, and structural integrity.
- Measure key environmental factors such as solar exposure, roof pitch, and available space for solar panels.
- Evaluate existing electrical systems and infrastructure to determine compatibility with proposed solar energy solutions.
- Gather necessary data to assess the feasibility of a solar installation, including site layout, equipment placement, and system size.
- Analyse clients' current and future energy consumption patterns to determine the optimal solar system size.
- Calculate and model energy needs based on historical usage data, building characteristics, and expected load.
- Provide detailed energy audits and recommendations for energy savings through solar integration and energy efficiency measures.
- Create and propose system designs that meet the energy demands and specifications of the client, ensuring cost-effectiveness, energy efficiency, and system longevity.
- Select appropriate components such as solar panels, inverters, batteries, and mounting systems based on technical specifications and budget constraints.
- Perform energy production calculations, including estimating system output and performance over time (e.g., using software tools like PVsyst, Helioscope, Homer or similar tools).
- Develop comprehensive system design proposals, including technical drawings, equipment lists, cost estimates, and project timelines.
- Prepare and submit reports on site conditions, energy assessments, and recommendations.
- Ensure that all designs meet existing regulations and codes in Nigeria.
- Communicate technical information clearly to clients and stakeholders to help them understand the benefits, feasibility, and savings potential of the proposed solar system.
- Provide post-installation support and troubleshooting, ensuring that systems are operating as expected
- Work closely with project managers, third-party suppliers and installation teams to ensure the design is accurately implemented during the installation phase.
- Assist in the coordination of site-specific considerations, ensuring compliance with all safety and operational standards
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, renewable energy, or a related field.
- Proven experience in solar PV system design, site assessment, or energy auditing.
- Proficiency in using solar design and modeling software such as PVsyst, Helioscope, or Homer.
- Strong knowledge of solar energy systems, including panels, inverters, batteries, and mounting systems.
- Familiarity with local and international regulations, codes, and standards for solar energy installations in Nigeria.
- Excellent analytical skills for energy needs calculation and system feasibility assessments.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with clients and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with project teams and installation crews.
- Willingness to travel to site locations as needed.
- Commitment to maintaining safety standards and adhering to operational protocols.
