Job Title: Store Officer

Job Summary: The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the fabrics inventory used in the furniture manufacturing process. This role ensures the efficient storage, handling, and distribution of fabrics and other raw materials, maintaining accurate records, and coordinating with various units to meet production needs.
KEY ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
§ Maintain accurate inventory records of all fabrics and other raw materials.
§ Conduct regular stock checks and audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
§ Monitor stock levels and reorder fabrics as needed to prevent shortages.
§ Coordinate with suppliers for timely delivery of fabrics
§ Ensure fabrics are stored in an organized and accessible manner.
§ Implement best practices for fabric storage to prevent damage and deterioration.
§ Label and categorize fabrics for easy identification and retrieval
§ Inspect incoming fabrics for quality and consistency.
§ Report any defects or discrepancies to the supplier and the procurement team.
§ Ensure all fabrics meet the company’s quality standards before they are issued to the production floor.
§ Collaborate with the production team to understand fabric requirements and timelines.
§ Communicate effectively with suppliers, procurement, and production departments.
§ Assist in resolving any fabric-related issues that arise during the manufacturing process.
§ Maintain detailed records of fabric receipts, issues, and returns.
§ Generate regular inventory reports for management review.
§ Prepare and submit purchase requisitions for fabric replenishment.
§ Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies regarding storage and handling of fabrics.
§ Maintain a clean and safe work environment in the fabric storage area.
§ Implement measures to safeguard fabrics from theft, damage, and environmental factors.
§ Any other task as assigned by line manager
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION
§ Bs.c/Hnd in Business Administration, Inventory Management or related field
§ A Higher qualification is a plus
WORK EXPERIENCE
§ Minimum of 2 years relevant experience
§ Proven experience in inventory management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
§ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
§ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
§ Proficiency in inventory management software/ERP and Microsoft Office Suite.
§ Knowledge of fabric types, qualities, and handling practices is an advantage.
§ Exceptional planning and time management skills
§ Strong negotiation skills
§ Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload
