Storyboard Artist

Responsibilities:

• Translate scripts into detailed storyboards that visually convey the tone, mood, and comedic timing of each scene.
  
• Create sketches, layouts, and rough drawings to depict key scenes and character actions.
  
• Collaborate closely with the Creative Director, screenwriters, and animators to ensure storyboards align with the project vision.
  
• Revise storyboards based on feedback from the creative team.
  
• Design shot compositions, camera angles, and transitions that enhance the story’s humor and pacing.
  
• Prepare animatics by sequencing storyboards with placeholder audio for timing and flow evaluation.
  

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Storyboard Artist, preferably in animation or related fields.
  
• Strong drawing skills with a clear understanding of anatomy, perspective, and composition.
  
• Proficiency in digital drawing tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Toon Boom Storyboard Pro, Moho, or equivalent software.
  
• Understanding of animation principles and the storytelling process.
  
• Ability to visualize comedic and narrative timing effectively.
  
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for integrating feedback.
  
• Portfolio demonstrating expertise in storyboarding, including dynamic and expressive character actions.
  

Additional skills:

• Experience working on comedic or animated sitcom projects.
  
• Knowledge of African cultural themes and storytelling.
  
• Familiarity with the production pipeline for 2D animation.
  
• Basic understanding of animatics and timing tools.
