Job Title: Strategic Partnership Manager

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Industry: Energy

Reports To: Country Director

Salary: 28M - 35M annual gross

Team Reports:

Working closely with Logistics Officer, Marketing Manager, Finance Team, Technical Manager and officers, and Business Analyst for reporting.

General Overview of Role:

This role is for business development with strategic partners across various business verticals: Solar Home System distributors, FMCG, Banks, MFIs, Agriculture, Pharmaceuticals, NGOs.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and onboard new strategic partners
  • Manage and develop existing partner accounts
  • Establish partnerships with financial channels (Banks, MFIs, etc.)
  • Develop strategy across key verticals: B2B, Agriculture, Medical, FMCG
  • Support financial channels and build an online channel
  • Coordinate operational sales activities with partners
  • Achieve growth and satisfaction among business partners

Responsibilities Breakdown:

Partnership Development, Commercial Management:

  • Monitor partners closely to ensure targets are met
  • Develop new partnership and distribution channels
  • Grow existing partnerships and prospect for new strategic opportunities
  • Create and implement strategies to increase sales opportunities, especially in weak-grid and off-grid segments

Operational Management:

  • Oversee partner orders and manage key accounts
  • Coordinate with logistics to ensure proper tracking and timely delivery
  • Work with technical support to ensure effective after-sales service
  • Track and report sales leads and business prospects

Project Management:

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Maintain and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Document learnings and support reporting and dashboard creation
  • Facilitate cross-department collaboration and communicate project status

Skills, Competencies, and Experience

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years in a managerial role
  • Minimum 10 years in business development and partnership management
  • Experience in the energy access sector is essential
  • Financial institution partnership experience
  • B2B and corporate experience
  • Budget management experience
  • Background in business development with external stakeholders
  • NGO channel experience is an advantage

Educational and Professional Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business preferred
  • Project management experience

Competencies:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for reporting
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders

Other:

  • Ambitious, flexible, and hardworking
  • Responsible, dynamic, and results-driven
