Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Develop and manage the company’s financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.
- Perform financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue generation.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on financial data and business performance.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Lead the annual budgeting process, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals.
- Continuously monitor actual performance against budget, providing variance analysis and suggesting corrective actions where needed.
- Develop and refine short-term and long-term financial forecasts.
- Financial Reporting:
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
- Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate audits and ensure financial statements are accurate and in compliance with regulations.
- Cash Flow and Working Capital Management:
- Oversee cash flow management, ensuring adequate liquidity to meet operational needs.
- Optimize working capital by managing inventory levels, receivables, and payables in line with FMCG industry practices.
- Cost Control and Profitability:
- Implement effective cost control measures across the business.
- Work closely with operations and supply chain teams to identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Analyze and manage product pricing, cost structures, and margins to optimize profitability.
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Assess and manage financial risks, including currency fluctuations, interest rates, and economic changes impacting the FMCG sector.
- Liaise with legal and compliance teams to ensure all financial operations are within regulatory frameworks.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
- Foster strong working relationships across departments to ensure financial goals are met in coordination with other business functions.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CFA are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in finance, with at least 3 years in a managerial position, preferably within the FMCG industry.
- Strong knowledge of financial principles, accounting standards (e.g., IFRS), and tax regulations.
- Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in financial management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Understanding of FMCG market dynamics, such as pricing, consumer demand, and supply chain operations.
- Experience in working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and partner with senior stakeholders.
