About the Role
Pulse Nigeria is looking for a Tech Associate to oversee the performance and functionality of the Pulse and Client’s website, ensuring it is accessible, user-friendly, and free from issues such as broken links or downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for monitoring and maintaining the Pulse and Client’s website performance, ensuring that it is accessible, functional, and user-friendly.
- Conduct regular checks for broken links, errors, and performance issues, and take necessary actions to resolve them.
- Diagnose and resolve website downtime issues by identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Responsible for managing the website's content, ensuring that it is up-to-date, accurate, and relevant. You may be required to work with content creators and editors to publish new content, update existing content, and ensure proper categorization and organization.
- Training website users on how to navigate and utilize the website's features effectively. This will involve webinars, creating user manuals or guides, and providing ongoing support to ensure users can make the most of the website's functionalities.
- Track and log user-reported issues, maintain a record of support requests, and generate reports on website performance and user feedback. You will be required to analyze the data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and implement necessary changes to enhance the website's functionality and user experience.
- Collaborate closely with the website development team to communicate user feedback, suggest enhancements, and assist in testing new features or updates.
- Conduct keyword research to identify relevant keywords and phrases that users are using to search for products, services, or information related to the website. You will be required to analyze search volume, competition, and user intent to develop a strategic keyword list.
- Optimize various on-page elements of the website, including meta tags, headings, URLs, and content. Ensure that these elements are optimized with relevant keywords, unique and compelling content, and proper formatting to improve search engine visibility and user experience.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve the website's authority and reputation through off-page optimization techniques. This may include building high-quality backlinks from reputable websites, managing online directories and citations, and participating in relevant industry forums and communities.
- Work closely with content creators to optimize website content for search engines. You ensure that the content is relevant, engaging, and optimized with targeted keywords.
- Track and analyze website performance using various tools and analytics platforms. Monitor keyword rankings, organic traffic, bounce rates, and other relevant metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Generate monthly reports and provide recommendations to optimize SEO strategies based on data analysis.
- Create a website help guide documentation manual to guide backend users to make changes to the website.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, algorithm updates, and best practices in SEO. You will continuously learn and adapt their strategies to ensure the website remains competitive and aligned with search engine guidelines.

- Building web apps or backend applications.
- Creating content or designs.
- Fixing hardware components.
Requirements
- At least two years work experience.
- Knowledge in WordPress development, web analytics and SEO.
- Familiarity with web standards.
- Working knowledge of website management tools and design tools.
- Knowledge in HTML/CSS, XML, WordPress CMS is preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to generate creative ideas.
- Attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills.
- BSc/BA in Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
