Job Title: Technical Design Lead

Location: Fountain Spring Interlinks, Lagos

Job Type: Full-time


Job Summary:

Fountain Spring Interlinks seeks an experienced and innovative Technical Design Lead to spearhead our design efforts in creating exhibition structures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in architecture, civil engineering, and building technology, coupled with expertise in 3D design tools. As the Technical Design Lead, you will oversee the design process, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure that all projects meet the highest quality, functionality, and aesthetics standards.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead Design Projects: Oversee and manage the design process for exhibition structures from concept to completion. Ensure that all designs align with client specifications, company standards, and industry regulations.
  • 3D Design and Visualization: Utilize advanced 3D design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, SketchUp) to create detailed and accurate models of exhibition structures. Develop renderings, simulations, and walkthroughs to visualize design concepts.
  • Architectural Design: Apply architectural principles to the design of exhibition spaces, ensuring that structures are both aesthetically pleasing and functional. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to refine designs.
  • Civil Engineering Integration: Incorporate civil engineering principles into the design process, ensuring that structures are safe, durable, and compliant with building codes. Address structural challenges and provide innovative solutions.
  • Building Technology: Stay updated on the latest advancements in building technology and materials. Integrate sustainable practices and cutting-edge technology into designs to enhance performance and reduce environmental impact.
  • Project Coordination: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to ensure seamless execution of designs. Provide technical guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of design documents and models to ensure accuracy, feasibility, and compliance with project requirements. Address any design-related issues promptly to maintain project timelines.
  • Client Collaboration: Engage with clients to understand their needs, present design concepts, and incorporate feedback into the final design. Ensure a high level of client satisfaction through effective communication and design excellence.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior designers and drafters, fostering a collaborative and innovative design environment. Provide training on design tools and best practices to enhance team capabilities.
  • Documentation: Prepare detailed technical drawings, specifications, and reports to support the construction and assembly of exhibition structures. Maintain accurate records of all design activities and revisions.


Qualifications:


  • Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in architectural design, civil engineering, or building technology, with a focus on exhibition or event spaces. Experience in a lead or supervisory role is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in 3D design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, SketchUp). Strong understanding of architectural design principles, civil engineering concepts, and building technology.
  • Design Expertise: Demonstrated ability to create innovative and functional designs for complex structures. Experience with sustainable design practices and materials is a plus.
  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that all design deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively present design concepts to clients and stakeholders.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Technology, or a related field.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience in the exhibition or events industry.
  • Knowledge of international building codes and standards.
  • Experience with virtual and augmented reality tools for design visualization.
