Technical Production Manager

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the technical team, ensuring high standards in lighting, video, projection, and AV production
• Oversee all technical aspects of event production, including pre-production planning, execution, and post-event evaluation
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for technical production processes.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, risk assessments, and best practices in event production.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain and manage the technical inventory, ensuring all equipment is serviced, tested, up to industry standards.
• Provide expert knowledge in lighting systems, LED screens, projectors, rigging, sound, and event infrastructure.
• Work closely with designers, engineers, and production teams to bring creative concepts to life.
• Interpret and utilize CAD, Vectorworks, AutoCAD, or other engineering/design software to plan and execute productions.
• Understand and apply mechanical and electrical principles to ensure safe and effective setup

Requirements:

• Proven experience (4+ years) in a technical leadership role within the event production, AV, or entertainment industry
• Strong expertise in lighting, AV systems, projection, and LED screens.
• Hands-on knowledge of rigging, trussing, structures, mechanical and electrical elements in event setups.
• Proficiency in engineering/design software such as AutoCAD, Vectorworks, or similar.
• Solid understanding of electrical power distribution and safety regulations.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to make quick, strategic decisions under pressure.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with experience in managing technical teams.
• Certification in rigging, electrical safety, or relevant technical fields is highly desirable.
• A degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, production technology, or a related discipline is a plus.
