Job Summary:
The Head of Finance and Strategy assumes a pivotal role in spearheading the financial and
strategic direction of the organization. This leadership position is responsible for establishing
and overseeing the finance department from inception, emphasizing business development,
meticulous accounting, comprehensive financial forecasting, and strategic planning analysis
to optimize profit margins and mitigate financial risks.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Leadership:
Take charge of developing, implementing, and managing all financial activities,
including business planning, budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and
negotiations.
Provide expert counsel on both long and short-term business and financial planning,
aligning strategies with organizational objectives.
Business Development and Growth:
Offer commercial insight and leadership, surpassing business plan targets by
implementing financial strategies that drive growth and profitability.
Identify and implement avenues for financial enhancement across the organization.
Financial Analysis and Planning:
Conduct comprehensive analysis of financial data, crafting and proposing intricate
financial models to support decision making.
Generate reports containing critical metrics, financial results, variance analysis, and
other relevant insights on a regular basis.
Establishment of Policies and Procedures:
Guide the development and enforcement of robust financial policies and procedures
to streamline operations and ensure compliance.
Strategic Decision Support:
Analyze trends and forecasts, recommending actionable insights to optimize
operational efficiencies and maximize profitability.
Conduct market research, data mining, and business intelligence activities to
facilitate informed decision making on pricing, bonuses, and other pertinent aspects.
Building and Leading Finance Department:
Oversee the creation and management of a dynamic finance department from scratch,
recruiting and leading a high performing team.
Fundraising and Revenue Generation:
Support fundraising initiatives and provide valuable recommendations to enhance
revenue generation based on historical and market insights.
Evaluate investment opportunities, presenting findings and recommendations to the
organization.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Experience and Education:
6+ years of progressive experience in finance, with a focus on strategic planning and
analysis.
Advanced degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in financial software such as QuickBooks, Tableau, Power BI, and Zoho
Expense.
Advanced Microsoft Suite skills, especially in Excel and PowerPoint.
