Terminal Manager (Export Processing Terminal - EPT)

Responsibilities:

Terminal Operations Management:

• Oversee the receipt, processing, storage, and movement of export cargo to ensure seamless operations.
• Ensure compliance with export documentation, customs regulations, and international trade standards..
• Supervise cargo inspection, quality control, and customs clearance processes.
• Ensure all cargo meets export packaging, labeling, and transportation requirements.
• Implement safety and security protocols to prevent damage, theft, or delays.

Regulatory Compliance & Liaison:

• Ensure adherence to guidelines from Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Nigeria Export promotion council (NEPC), Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON), NAFDAC, and other
• regulatory agencies.
• Facilitate customs clearance, inspection, and export documentation processing.
• Stay updated with changes in export laws, tariffs, and terminal regulations.
• Represent the terminal in meetings with port authorities, government agencies, and exporters.

Staff Supervision & Leadership:

• Manage terminal staff, including warehouse supervisors, logistics coordinators, security personnel, and administrative staff.
• Provide training and guidance to employees to enhance productivity and ensure compliance.
• Develop and implement performance metrics and KPIs for terminal operations.

Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination:

• Coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and transport companies for the timely movement of cargo.
• Monitor cargo tracking systems to ensure smooth transportation to ports.
• Optimize storage space, cargo handling, and terminal logistics to improve efficiency.

Financial & Budget Management:

• Oversee the terminal’s financial performance, including cost control and revenue generation.
• Manage billing, invoicing, and operational expenses.
• Implement strategies to reduce costs related to delays, demurrage, and inefficiencies.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Work closely with exporters, manufacturers, and logistics partners to ensure smooth operations.
• Address complaints, delays, or operational issues promptly.
• Ensuring timely and efficient cargo processing.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. A Master's degree is an added advantage.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-10 years in terminal operations, logistics, port management, or a related role.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of export regulations, customs procedures, and international trade laws.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in cargo tracking systems, logistics software, and port management tools.
• Leadership: Ability to manage large teams, resolve conflicts, and drive operational excellence.
• Problem-Solving: Quick decision-making skills to handle delays, regulatory challenges, and logistics issues.
