Job Description/Requirements
The Total Rewards & Performance Management Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the organization’s compensation, benefits, payroll, and performance management programs. This role ensures that the company's total rewards strategy is competitive, compliant with Nigerian labor laws, and aligned with business objectives. The specialist will analyze market trends, administer employee benefits, oversee payroll, and drive performance management initiatives to attract, retain, and motivate top talent.
Key Responsibilities
1. Compensation & Benefits Management
- Develop and maintain competitive compensation structures, including salary bands, pay grades, and incentive programs.
- Conduct job evaluations, salary benchmarking, and market analysis to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness.
- Administer annual salary reviews, bonus programs, and other variable pay initiatives.
- Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, pension, wellness programs, and statutory benefits (PAYE, NSITF, NHF, Pension).
- Collaborate with benefits providers to negotiate contracts and ensure cost-effective solutions.
2. Payroll Administration
- Compile and administer monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy in salary payments and statutory deductions.
- Address payroll-related discrepancies and ensure compliance with tax and labor regulations.
- Maintain payroll records and generate reports on payroll costs and trends.
3. Performance Management
- Oversee the performance management cycle, including goal setting, appraisals, and performance improvement plans.
- Provide guidance to managers and employees on performance evaluation processes.
- Develop strategies to enhance employee performance, engagement, and recognition programs.
4. Data Analysis & Reporting
- Utilize HRIS and analytics tools to generate insights on compensation, benefits utilization, and performance trends.
- Prepare detailed reports for senior management, highlighting key compensation and performance metrics.
5. Employee Communication & Compliance
- Ensure all compensation, benefits, and performance programs comply with Nigerian labor laws and international best practices.
- Develop and deliver communication materials to educate employees about total rewards and performance management programs.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and recommend necessary adjustments.
Requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- HR certification (CIPM, SHRM, CIPD) and compensation/benefits certification (CCP, CBP) are a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years in compensation, benefits, payroll, and performance management.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian labor laws and statutory deductions.
- Proficiency in payroll and HR analytics software.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
