Travel Specialist I

Responsibilities:

• Thorough Research: Conduct in-depth research on destinations, travel prices, customs, weather conditions, and reviews. Stay informed about the latest travel trends and emerging destinations.
• Client-Specific Understanding: Determine clients' travel preferences, interests, and specific requirements. Suggest and tailor suitable travel packages that align with clients' preferences and expectations.
• Booking and Payments: Facilitate the booking of transportation and accommodations. Collect payments and maintain accurate financial records related to clients' travel transactions.
• Innovative Package Development: Contribute ideas and collaborate with clients to formulate new and enticing travel packages and schedules. Ensure meticulous planning of travel itineraries to optimize client experiences.
• Client Interaction: Assist and advise clients on travel information, helping them choose the best travel plans according to their needs. Respond to client inquiries promptly and professionally, ensuring a positive experience.
• Problem Resolution: Address and resolve travel-related problems, complaints, or refund requests promptly and effectively.
• Networking and Record-Keeping: Maintain relationships with key industry stakeholders & clients. Keep meticulous statistical and financial records.
• Achieving Targets: Work towards meeting and exceeding profit and sales targets.
• Adaptive Travel Support: If necessary, travel alongside clients to provide on-the-go assistance, ensuring a comfortable and stress-free experience.

Requirements:

• 2 years of experience as a Travel Specialist or similar role
• BA in Hospitality, Travel, Tourism, Business or similar relevant field
• Knowledgeable about travel, tourism, offers & its trends
• Excellent knowledge of computer reservations systems, GDS systems and e-travelling
• Good sales and presentation skills
• Critical thinker and problem solver
• Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Professional attitude and appearance.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills.

Targets:

• Close sales of N10,000,000.00 per month.
• Convert 20 leads to customers monthly.
• Provide 50 new leads contacts.
• Supervising Officer Evaluation. 
• Note: If points 1,2  and (3 or 4) are distinction rated, a “Commitment Bonus” of NGN 50,000 is awarded to the Travel Specialist for the month.
• Sales commission is awarded on closed business opportunities.
• A sales bonus is granted on every NGN 5,000,000 closed transaction.

Work Schedule:

• The work schedule is from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. An hour break from 12 Noon to 1:00 PM applies.
• Workdays are Monday to Friday. However, it is customary that you have flexible hours on a 24-hour schedule to aid operations and clients travelling across different time zones – hence, accessibility at all times is required.
• On some occasions, a 4-hour Saturday may be required.
• 3-days weekly onsite resumption is required.
• You can utilize the office more often for electricity and internet service.

Remuneration: NGN 300,000 above
