About the Role - The Treasury & Investment Officer plays a crucial role in managing the company's financial assets and liabilities, ensuring effective liquidity management, and optimizing investment strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cash Management: Monitor daily cash flow and ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs. Forecast cash requirements and manage short-term investments.
- Investment Strategy: Develop and implement investment strategies aligned with organizational goals. Analyse market trends and economic conditions to inform investment decisions.
- Risk Management: Identify and assess financial risks related to investments and funding. Develop strategies to mitigate identified risks, including currency, interest rate, and credit risks.
- Portfolio Management: Oversee the organization’s investment portfolio, ensuring diversification and alignment with risk tolerance. Regularly review and rebalance the portfolio as needed.
- Reporting and Compliance: Prepare financial reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with banks, investment managers, and other financial institutions. Maintain relationships with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
- Strategic Planning: Contribute to the organization’s financial planning and strategic initiatives. Advise on funding strategies and financial structures for projects and investments.
Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or professional certification (ACA, ACCA) will be added advantage.
Required Skills & Experience
- At least 5 years proven experience in treasury management, investment analysis, or financial management.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Proficiency in financial modelling and forecasting tools.
- Financial Acumen: Deep understanding of financial markets, instruments, and investment strategies.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to align financial strategies with organizational objectives.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and compliance in financial reporting and analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
