Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Furniture Upholstery: The primary function is to upholster furniture pieces such as sofas, chairs, ottomans, and benches. This involves removing old upholstery, repairing or replacing the internal padding and springs if necessary, and then applying new fabric or leather coverings.
- Custom Upholstery: Upholsterers often work on custom projects where they create bespoke furniture pieces or modify existing ones to meet specific design preferences or dimensions requested by clients.
- Fabric and Material Selection: Choosing appropriate fabrics, leathers, or other materials for upholstery based on durability, aesthetics, and client preferences. This may involve knowledge of different textile types and their suitability for different furniture pieces.
- Repair and Restoration: Repairing and restoring antique or damaged furniture pieces by replacing worn-out padding, repairing broken frames, and applying new upholstery to bring the furniture back to its original or desired.
Requirements:
- Minimum academic qualification of SSCE
- 2 years of working experience
